What makes LetsLocalise different from other fundraising platforms?

There’s no shortage of websites out there today which support good causes through fundraising and donations. So, you might be wondering, why exactly should I choose to join LetsLocalise? What makes it different from other websites?

Put simply, we are far more than just a fundraising platform! We are the only such website designed specifically for schools, and we empower people to support their schools in the most effective ways possible. We have created a unique system through which schools can broadcast their specific needs and highlight them to people in their community who can provide the skills, money, or time to help. In this way, we can maximise the benefits of goodwill amongst parents and local people to make sure schoolchildren of all ages can receive a well-rounded education.

When you become a member of LetsLocalise, you are given the opportunity to see a list of schools in your area, and to explore the ‘Pledge a Penny’ or ‘Pledge a Minute’ campaigns that you can help them with. You can clearly see how pledging your money or offering your time will benefit students, with detailed explanations of the projects. When you get involved, you’ll also receive campaign updates and photographs showing how students have benefitted – some of our pledgers even receive personalised ‘thank you’ cards and updates from students themselves!

In addition to pledging time or money, we also go beyond conventional fundraising and volunteering by offering the opportunity for those with special skills or knowledge to share their expertise with students through our ‘Expert Talks’ feature. Schools can select experts and professionals with skills that they feel their students would be interested to hear about to come and lead talks. By building connections like these, we aim to enrich not only the experience of school students, but to give the chance for people from across the community to get involved in sharing their skills and making a difference.

As our pilot phase progresses, we are also developing a number of other features which make us stand out. These include a ‘Work With School’ page which makes the recruitment process for schools far less costly and more streamlined, and a ‘Corporate Connect’ feature that will allow local businesses to get involved in the programme as part of their CSR initiatives. We also regularly share and post articles and blogs about our work to encourage discussion amongst our members about the best ways for our platform to grow and develop in the future.

We offer people the chance to dedicate pledges to a person or cause. For example, for a loved one’s birthday, you may wish to make a pledge to a project at their former school and dedicate it to them. This offers a unique and more personalised way of making donations as a gift – your dedication will appear on our ‘Pledging Heroes’ section, and both you and your loved one will be able to see the direct benefits of your pledge in action through our campaign updates.

The best way to understand how all these features make us unique is to experience them in action by getting on board. You can sign up at LetsLocalise.co.uk – it’s free and easy – and see for yourself! Nominate your nearest school to take part, get pledging, and see what makes LetsLocalise a special platform to be a part of.
